Installed Thunderbird on new computer and replaced Profiles file with saved Profile file from old computer, Inbox all there but NO SENT file folder.

I had to purchase a new computer. I downloaded and installed Thunderbird to the new computer. I then replaced the Profile file with a copy of the Profile from my old computer. When I started Thunderbird, everything in the Inbox was there but some of the new messages coming now have incorrect times or dates. BUT THE BIG PROBLEM IS THAT THE "SENT" MAIL FOLDER IS EMPTY AND NONE OF THE TEST MESSAGES I HAVE SENT TO MYSELF APPEAR IN THE "SENT" FILE.

re :new messages coming now have incorrect times or dates.

In computer 'Control Panel' Dates and times are based on the computer settings. Check the 'Date and Time'. Also check the Timezone.

check the 'Regional and Language Options' to set up the way your computer displays numbers etc.

re :but NO SENT file folder Are you talking about a pop or Imap mail account? If imap: Have you subscribed to see the server 'Sent' folder?

  • Right click on mail account in Folder pane and select 'Subscribe'
  • select 'Sent' and click on 'Subscribe'
  • click on OK

Check Account Settings to make sure you have selected the correct folder.

  • Right click on mail account in Folder pane and select 'Settings'
  • Select 'Copies & Folders'
  • Select 'Place a copy in'
  • Select' Other'
  • choose the 'Sent folder on imap mail account'

Thanks for the advice. But, somehow, I "apparently" fixed both problems late last night by running Activity Manager.
