How do I edit a calendar event that someone sent to me?

When someone sends me a calendar-entry, I can open the event but not edit the information in the Description pane. Oftentime I'd like to be able to add new contact information to the event. Other times I'd just like to remove empty lines so the pane fits better with others on my screen.

Is there some file that I can edit directly? I don't want to have to use SQlite etc. though.

This is using Lightning 5.4 with Thunderbird 52.5.0 (64-bit), running on Ubuntu 16.04 (64-bit). Likely the calendar-entries had been created via OutLook.

Would I be better off filing this through BugZilla?
