Mendeley Web Extension blocked on PDFs
Hi,
I use Mendeley Web Extension to pull articles and other things from Firefox directly into my Mendeley library. I will usually rapidly read through the PDF file online before deciding to add it or not. For some unknown reason, Firefox blocks the use of Mendeley on PDF file, for security reasons, and I can no longer add them to my library. Most references are only available as PDF files making the add-on completely useless. Is there a security feature that I can disable to be able to use the extension again?
Kind regards,
Mathias

Yes, it's expected. I think we could only find some workaround for local PDF files.

Link to the add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/mendeley-web-importer/?utm_source=addons.mozilla.org&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=search Link to release notes: https://www.mendeley.com/release-notes-web-importer/
I just use Google Scholar which provides links directly to the paper or the editor's website for the journal in which it was published.
Thanks
What makes you think Firefox is blocking the use of the extension? What is happening?
When I try to open the extension on a PDF file a notification pops up saying that the extension cannot run because for security reasons Firefox blocks extensions running on PDF files

Okay, that's a shame... Thanks a lot for all your help!
