I always update Firefox from the ABOUT window. Currently I have 98.0.2 which is the current standard release.

Why then am I asked to update to 99.0 which is a BETA VERSION?

I don't need or want any BETA versions.

While I can dismiss the update reminders, on the next reboot it WILL install itself automatically.

How can I stop this and get myself OFF the Beta channel once and for all?

Firefox 99.0 was just Released on April 5, 2022 so it is the current Release.

Btw a version on one channel will not update to a build on another channel so it is not possible for a version on Release channel to update to a build on Beta channel.

thanks James and cor-el for your replies.

I can now install this version.

But my question still remains - how can I ensure that I'm not on the Beta channel?

thanks FredMcD - this is very helpful.

I checked - my channel is "release" , so that's good!
