some comments don't show any content and often many people have either commented or upvoted the comment so i know others are seeing it . . . why do you hate me?

now i can't find the screenshot i "saved to the web" with your "take a screenshot" hidden function . . . you really do hate me, don't you?

tried to upload my own copy of the screenshot but it just sends that cute little spinning bar around and around and around...

There is a fault with the software this forum uses; the fault is with the upload in the posting that starts a new thread. You can upload via a "Post a Reply" posting as long as the image isn't too large. It is best to use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed a maximum file size of 1 MB.

Then use the Browse .... button below the Post a Reply text box to upload the screenshot.

"We" had replacement software here in Feb 2016 that did fix the uploading in the creations of a new Questions thread, but there were so many other faults with it that after like 6 weeks of attempted fixes by the organization that provided that new software Mozilla reverted to this older software that Mozilla had built "in house" back in 2010. It has never been perfect but at least it merged with and worked with the KnowledgeBase a hell of a lot better than the "new package" did.

Hi, you doing ok ? Am sure we would like you..... Your Adblock Plus maybe hiding those things from you as it is blocking the tracking cookie. Try a site that you can not see what you want then disable or pause Adblock Plus and reload the page to see if that is the issue or you can do this : SAFE MODE

In Firefox Safe mode these changes are effective:

  • all extensions are disabled (about:addons)
  • default theme is used (no persona)
  • userChrome.css and userContent.css are ignored (chrome folder)
  • default toolbar layout is used (file: localstore-safe.rdf)
  • Javascript JIT compilers are disabled (prefs: javascript.options.*jit)
  • hardware acceleration is disabled (Options > Advanced > General)
  • plugins are not affected
  • preferences are not affected

TEST''''is issue still there ?

As for the screenshot in the web, turn off the feature that sends it to the web and store only locally on your system.

As to not able to upload, that sometimes happens when traffic is heavy. You can try again.

Also suggest you reinstall your Video Card Drivers as they have Errors which also can cause the issue you have.

u'available = good, u'uavailable = bad Blocked =bad

featureLog: {u'fallbacks': [], u'features': [{u'status': u'blocked', u'description': u'Compositing', u'log': [{u'status': u'blocked', u'message': u'Acceleration blocked by platform', u'type': u'default'}], u'name': u'HW_COMPOSITING'}, {u'status': u'unavailable', u'description': u'OpenGL Compositing', u'log': [{u'status': u'unavailable', u'message': u'Hardware compositing is disabled'

Hardware Acceleration I think is turned off in Firefox is one error.

This is the universal "My Shots" URL for screenshots you save using Firefox Screenshot:

https://screenshots.firefox.com/shots

It should only show images captured with your Firefox.

Note that when you take a screenshot you can click the Download button instead of the Save button to save the screenshot to your hard drive (default downloads folder).

OK . . . when i run in safe mode it runs fine . . . the system is not using any proprietary drivers (i think graphics is all handled on the cpu chip) . . . coming out of safe mode with all extensions and add-ons manually (digitally?) disabled, hardware acceleration disabled, and only the default theme active . . . ta-da! . . . it goes back to not showing some comments.

the driver manager has "do not update the cpu microcode" selected (i didn't do it, honest) . . . possible?

i also disconnected the big monitor and ran with just the laptop scrfeen . . . no joy.

having seen the comments that don't show up (finally) they all seem to be from facebook . . . but i still don't understand why a manual disabling of all the things mentioned in safe mode wordy-bits behaves differently.

thanks all . . . i think i'll just run it in safe mode if i really want to know what someone felt was important enough to import from faceplace.

completely off-topic but . . . maybe add two more buttons to the "did this solve your problem" box . . . one marked "no" and one marked "sorta"

Hi, not wise to run in safe mode for too long. Ok, finally think I have a grasp of what is going on. Are these Facebook Push Notifications as per the picture in here ? : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/push-notifications-firefox and if it is do you want to turn it off ?
