23.0.1 shuffles my toolbar
After updating to 23.0.1, all of my toolbar customizations were scrambled. I tried to rearrange them, but they were not retained. I have done the "Reset Firefox" routine more than once, to no avail. My toolbar was arranged to minimize mousing around, and now my wrist hurts! Please advise.
Also, how do I completely remove Avast plugin? I no longer use it.

I imagine as Aavst is security related software it will need a special uninstaller from Avast.
As for the messed up tool bars could you explain the problem in a bit more detail. Presumably you customised them initially yourself, can you not do that again ? Have you a problem and something does not change, or does not stay changed?
- does this apply ?
Changes to toolbars and window sizes are not saved
Avast uninstalls correctly from the control panel, no seperate program needed for that.
Also try to delete the localstore.rdf file from the profile folder which holds the toolbar layout as it may be corrupted.
You can also try to remove the Firefox plist file (org.mozilla.firefox.plist).

Go to "~/Library/Preferences" and remove the plist file for Firefox (org.mozilla.firefox.plist)
Sure. I have several add-on items in my tool bar that I prefer in particular locations. After upgrading to 23.0.1, the add-ons reverted to some sort of order different from where I placed them when I customized the toolbar. In particular, 1Password, which I have placed at the extreme left end of the toolbar to minimize mousing, always ends up on the extreme left end after a launching Firefox anew. If I then tried to move it again, 1Password ended up non-functional. Yes, I went through all the suggestions in <Changes to toolbars and window sizes are not saved > to no avail. I'm stumped
No control panel on a Mac. I just rooted around in every Library folder I could access and trashed files with "avast" in thir names.
Just redid that, as well as the lock file and the "container.plist" files. Lets see what happens.
