My wife's lap top for our ministry no longer has the Google search bar directly under the Firefox logo on the home page. However my desk top still does. She want to be able to use that search bar again using Google instead of the tool bar on the far right corner. How do we get that Google search toolbar back?

Chosen solution

Install the Search Reset extension to fix that.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/searchreset/?src=ss

This add-on is very simple: on installation, it backs up and then resets your search preferences and home page to their default values, and then uninstalls itself. This affects the search bar, URL bar searches, and the home page.

Sorry, I'm not sure if I understood the question, what is that she can't do?

Searching directly from the awesome bar*? or you just mean the firefox deafult start home page that have the logo and the google search?

  • the same bar where you type the url.

Right on the main page underneath the Firefox logo is a search box. On my desk top to the left of that is a Google logo. I can utilize this search box but Karen cannot. The only word she has is "search" to the right of that box. When she puts any type of search words in that box it does nothing. For some reason her Google is no longer there.
