I'm trying to move my .thunderbird folder from my laptop to my desktop. Both machines are running Thunderbird 68.0. However, when execute Thunderbird on my desktop with the .thunderbird folder from my laptop, it prompts me letting me know that I have to make a new profile because this is no longer allowed in 68.0

So, how do I migrate my profiles in 68.0?

I've tried that but I get the following error: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/unable-launch-older-version-profile

It just gives me the option to create a new profile or quit, with no way of merging the old profiles.

This has made Thunderbird unusable for me on my desktop... I have a lot of accounts with custom filters + RSS feeds set up and it used to be as easy as just replacing the .thunderbird folder... I don't want to have to manually add all of those accounts and settings again...

I tried copying the contents of the old profile folder into the new one, but again, it gave me the error telling me I need to create a new profile and add them manually.

Your laptop and desktop could be running the same version of Thunderbird now, but the profile you're trying to migrate was definitely loaded and used by a newer version of Thunderbird, hence the error message. You need to use the same version that was last used with that profile. Is this an attempt to downgrade to 68 from 78?

No, both machines are using v 68.11.0.
