How can I set Firefox to open a link in an already opened private window instead of launching a new separate private window?
In Firefox, the "Open Link in New Private Window" context menu opens links always in new separate private windows instead of using only one (previously opened) private window. I use very often private links (but also "normal" links), so this is very uncomfortable and inconvenient for me. Please provide a config setting for opening links in new private tabs instead of new private windows. Or if it exists, tell me how can I set it. I know that there are extensions for this, but I do NOT want to install an extension for every ordinary setting. This should be possible without installing any extension... For example, in Chromium this is the default (it opens private links using the previously opend private window).

Yes, I know very well how to open a link in the same window with middle-click or Ctrl + ... But my question is not about this: it is about how to open a link from a normal window in an already opened private window as a new private tab.
So, it seems that Firefox currently does not support this feature (without an extension). What to do now? To mark my question resolved while it is not resolved...?
@jscher2000 I gave a feedback requesting this future using https://qsurvey.mozilla.com/s3/FirefoxInput/ link. Thanks
And I have also added the "Open in chosen Private window" add-on. It works.

Hi Pimpo, here in support, we work with the Firefox we have today, including features, settings, and workarounds (e.g., add-ons).
We can't really help with suggested feature changes. You could submit comments and suggestions for feature changes through one or more of the following links, or recently I saw someone created a Change.org petition (no idea whether that helps):
- Feedback: https://qsurvey.mozilla.com/s3/FirefoxInput/
- Discourse: https://discourse.mozilla.org/c/firefox-development
- Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/
- Twitter: https://twitter.com/firefox
- Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Firefox
Meanwhile, you could use an extension such as:
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/open-in-chosen-private-window/
No need for an extension to do that. To open a Private Tab in an already open Private Window, just middle-click or Ctrl + Click a hyperlink in the Private Window .

That's a really good point. If you are viewing a page in a private window already, the new tab will be in the same window. The problem only arises opening a link in a regular window into an existing private window.

Hi Pimpo, you can mark your own reply explaining the overall status of the situation as the "solution." The main difference is that threads marked as solved are allowed to be indexed in search engines, so others can find the thread more easily in the future.
You would have to drag the link to a window (e.g. empty space on tab bar or new tab button) to open the link in this window. Firefox doesn't come with a way to open a link in a specific (regular or PB) window.
