view an old calender
What I would like to do. I would like to view my calendar of 2015 and see if I can trace back all my appointments. I need to do this for admin reasons related to projects. So I would like so see all I have done in the year 2015. In my current Thunderbird/Lightning I cant go back that far. I do have backup's made in that year. So I thought of importing it. How can I view the calendar without "upsetting" my current Thunderbird calendar?
Greetings

Create a new local calendar 2015 in Lightning and import your backed up 2015 calendar. The backup should be an .ics file.
How do you create a new local calender?
Sorry, i figured out how to make a "new calendar" but could not find anything on importing ics to new calendar. Could you help me with this?
Greetings
In addition; the backup I have is in the form of the profiles folder of Thunderbird!! Maybe this gives more info on the best way of importing the data.
Cheers
the backup I have is in the form of the profiles folder of Thunderbird!!
That will make it a little more complicated. Basically the steps would be:
- create a new profile using profile manager, see https://support.mozilla.org/kb/using-multiple-profiles
- copy the contents of your backed up profile over the newly created profile
- start Thunderbird with the new profile via profile manager
- export the old calendar in .ics format
- close Thunderbird
You can then start Thunderbird with your regular profile again, and import the .ics file as described before.
Are you comfortable doing this? If not, you may be better off asking someone for help with direct access to your computer.
