Thunderbird will download new messages but any messages older than a couple of days do not download from my web based mail server, Mediacom.

Whenever I'm away from the office I read my email on Mediacom's web based email. Then when I return to the office, Thunderbird downloads these emails to its system for review and storage. Recently Thunderbird stopped downloading any message that is more than a couple of days old leaving them on the Mediacom system. How do I get these older messages downloaded. In the past Thunderbird has had no trouble with downloading two to three weeks of old messages.
