There is not enough disk space to download new messages
I'm running 24.3.0 - this morning I was able to receive messages until a couple of hours ago and started receiving error message 'There is not enough disk space to download new messages'. I deleted over half my messages but still got error message. I rebooted - no better so I checked Help site and followed:
"Quit Thunderbird.
Locate the global-messages-db.sqlite file in your Thunderbird Profile . Delete the global-messages-db.sqlite file. "
and the Global Database rebuilt bit I still can't receive more messages. I'm running Windows 7 and have 200GB free on my C drive. What else can I do? My email is pbowling@nc.rr.com but since I can't receive messages, send to my gmail account, philbowlingiii@gmail.com. Thanks, Phil Bowling

First of all, make sure you do have a backup of your profile.

After deleting messages you should also compact folders.
Assuming you deleted messages from Inbox, right-click Inbox - Compact.
You should set-up Thunderbird to automatically compact folders.

Also accumulating messages in Inbox isn't a good idea, keep your Inbox as tidy as possible.
Have you been using the Inbox for long-term storage? It was not meant to be used that way. See this page:
I did have too many notes in the Inbox but I compacted over half today and then deleted some more. I also deleted all sent and trash and the 2010 and 2011 archives and I still haven't been able to receive messages (none since 9:30 this morning). What else can I try - I did the backup christ1 suggested using Mozbackup. Thanks...
