as of the latest update, when I use the search in the firefox menu toolbar the search uses a really old type of google search page that is missing all the current search tabs & toolbars (Web, Images, Videos, Maps, News). it's basically blank but for the "web" results, (I can't do any other type of google search from it, like Images, Videos, Maps or News, only Web)

using google normally from google.com works fine, it's just the firefox toolbar that dose it.

The www.goggle.com/firefox page doesn't have the extras.
If you need them then you need to visit the main www.google.com site

it always did before, it only changed at the last update like 2 days ago. now if I want to search for a picture I need to go to google.com, where's before I could just type what I wanted into the menu bar and then select Pictures. sucks, is like 2 extra page loads before I get to any pictures... or maps or anything but basic sites.

I also notice it resets all my google setting to default every time. makes the search bar not worth using.

K I had a look at that & it was on Firefox will: Remember history so i changed it to Firefox will: Use custom settings for history & when I open Options > Privacy again it's back to Firefox will: Remember history.... every time I do it it changes back...

made no difference to the "quick search" on the FF toolbar.

The "Remember history" setting will come back if all history settings have the default value.
"Use custom settings" only stays selected if at least one setting is not the default, so that is OK.
