For many weeks through one or more updates, these problems continue to occur: (also my wife is experiencing similar issue with her Thunderbird) 1. when I click on delete button more than one email is deleted; 2. when I click on an email to read it, often the large window opens and I have to X out of it to get back to email page; 3. when I click on an email link, it often opens multiple times (tabs) in Firefox; 4. when I click on an email or link, sometimes there is no reaction. So I tried changing mouse clicking speeds but to no avail; In all the years using Thunderbird, I have never experienced anything like these issues. My wife and I are using HP desktop computers with Windows 10, and the latest updates from Thunderbird (and Firefox). Hope someone out there can help. Thanks

When you click using a mouse the signal is received in computer and the appropriate response is made. Sounds like a single left click is not being understood by computer as a single left click.

In mouse settings: Is the length of time you click on left button being perceived as too long or two single clicks are interpreted as one double click ? Adjust the double click speed and test by clicking on the test folder icon until all is correct. Is the mouse 'Click Lock' option turned on ? Turn it off.

Another cause could be that the mouse is malfunctioning. It might have a defective circuit board in it and is incorrectly recognizing a single click as a double-click action. If this is the case, the best resolution is to test with another mouse if you have one or purchase a new mouse.

This is a mouse issue.
