Just today I noticed my bookmark toolbar along the top is gone. I keep trying to hide and unhide it to no avail. When opening firefox I do see the toolbar momentarily then it flashes and disappears. I can reach my books through view bookmarks but that is not so friendly.

Don't know what else to do.

Thanks David

Hi David, have you heard the old suggestion to turn it off and turn it back on again? Some users of recent versions of Firefox reported that their bookmarks toolbar would disappear shortly after startup when it was set to restore the previous session windows and tabs automatically. But if you turn that off for one cycle and then turn it back on again, everything is fine. So that would be:

(1) Uncheck the box for "Restore previous session" on the Options page

(2) Exit Firefox from the menu and start it back up again

(3) Restore your session manually using either

  • menu button > Restore Previous Session
  • (menu bar) History > Restore Previous Session

(4) Re-check the box for "Restore previous session" on the Options page

I should have known. Today my browser opened without the saved tabs but I thought I must have closed an unpopulated firefox window last by mistake. But now I am thinking there was a snafu in saving the previous session. Any way, my bookmark toolbar is back! Thank you!
