Without Active X, Firefox is useless to me and my company.

I tried to upload a screen shot of our problem, but Firefox just sits there spinning. We have officially moved our entire company online, with no need for software to be installed on local machines. Our latest addition, security cameras (HIKVision) are not compatible with Firefox because they require ActiveX. Your decision decision to eliminate the plug-in, has forced us back to the clunky Internet Explorer. Please contact the millions of cast-off Firefox users when you come up with a solution, and we'll give you another try.

ActiveX controls have never run in Firefox.

If you require a proprietary "Netscape style" plugin in Firefox, you can use the Extended Support Release of Firefox 52 for the rest of its supported lifetime (through next Spring). More info:

Your Firefox identified itself as running on MacOS X. If you are planning to use the ESR version on 64-bit Windows, make sure to install the 32-bit version of Firefox. On Windows, the 64-bit version is limited to Flash and Silverlight.

And I suggest encouraging your vendor to extend support to a plugin-free Firefox as it said it would do for Chrome when Chrome ended support for plugins: http://www.hikvision.com/us/Press-Release-details_91_i3297.html

You may also have to install Java in case a Java applet is used instead of an ActiveX control that only works in older Windows internet Explorer versions.
