What has happened to the integrated Pocket extension in Firefox? It does not provide information, only a white box with no text inside
The integrated pocket extension fails on opening. The extension works fine in that it will save articles to my Pocket account. But the white box that opens has no text. Before there was a link to the account.
The integrated extension is a dismal replacement for the original Pocket add-on. It provides no feedback on the icon to notify an article has been saved (the old one turned red), and you must go to an entirely different place in the browser, the bookmarks bar, to open up Pocket. That is kind of silly. The suggestion is to pin pocket to your browser, but I do not like pinned tabs since too many of them being opened eats memory.
Please let us go back to the old Pocket Add-on.

"What has happened to the integrated Pocket extension in Firefox?"
Pocket is integrated with Firefox now as of Firefox 38.0.5. The former add-on extension that Pocket replaced was called ReadItLater. The two won't coexist on the same device, and I don't think the old Firefox extension will work any longer if the Pocket account is set up with another device that is using Pocket. http://help.getpocket.com/
See Transitioning from the old Pocket extension for Firefox here - http://help.getpocket.com/customer/portal/articles/1999057-i-already-use-pocket-for-firefox-what%E2%80%99s-changed- - and scroll halfway down that page.
Thanks for the answer but this tells me nothing. Its kind of like a robo answer. My problem is that the integrated Pocket extension does not work well. Its really a kind of haphazard implementation that falls far short of the old extension. The old extension should be the "integrated" form of Pocket as it worked very well.
Sorry if you don't like the way Pocket was implemented vs how it worked as an add-on extension. Nothing that the Firefox support volunteers here can do about that.
You can provide that feedback to Mozilla here: https://input.mozilla.org/en-US/feedback
And to the ReadItLater people over here: http://help.getpocket.com/customer/portal/emails/new
Adding Pocket to Firefox was a joint effort by both Mozilla and ReadItLater, Inc
Thanks much for the time and accept my apologies for griping about the extension to the incredible volunteers. Not my intent whatsoever. But, irrespective of the fact that I do not like how the integration has occurred - and it seems I am not alone in that view - the extension is now broken. I have no idea how to get it back to working condition. With any other extension I would simply unload it and then reload. Most times that would correct any problem. Now????
