If you have noticed in chrome, it doesnt have a title bar which saves a lot of limited verticle space on the screen. In Google Chrome or Chromium seperating tab is on the top. It is not the title bar as it doesnt exist.

Is there a possibility that we can get rid of that title bar in firefox?

Hello,

You can go to your customization page by either:

  • Entering about:customization in your address bar
  • Right click on your toolbar and select "Customize"
  • New Fx Menu > Customize

At the bottom left should say "Title Bar", if you click that the title bar should hide. Please see the article Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars for more information.

I notice you are on Linux, so note that if it doesn't work and you installed from a repository or somewhere other than the official Mozilla build, certain functionality may be different and you will need to ask the appropriate maintainer how this needs to be done.

You can't hide the title bar on Linux. That is only possible on the Windows platform. You can only hide all other toolbars.

You would have to run Firefox in full screen mode to hide the title bar.

Can Firefox please take it as a suggession and include that in the future designs? I mean, there is no point wasting verticle space just for a title bar that is of no use am I right?

Desktop managers in Linux generally have their own features/applications to hide title bars/window decorations.

  • KDE: Alt+F3 (or right click the title bar) > More Actions > No Border
