Latest updaye has stopped me from receiving emails
I have stopped getting new email thru Thunderbird after the latest update occurred (last message was at just before update). It appears several settings were changed. Help! I can get mail via other devises. Joe

I have the same problem. I've checked my server and it uses TLS 1.2 so this FAQ did not help:
Anything else we can do to make version 78 work with existing servers? Specifically I have a postfix/courier setup. Version 68 still works like a charm.
I have the TLS_REQUIRED=1 variable set and only TLS_PROTOCOLS=TLS1 (no SSLv2/3). Just in case, I added the TLS_PRIORITY variable, although I'm not so sure it gets used.
What else is going on that Thunderbird disconnect immediately from the server?! (I can see a LOGIN immediately followed by a LOGOUT so we get the connection going, but somehow TB seems to not like something and bails out immediately.)
