I was wanting to use firefox mobile for iPod. I was wondering if the firefox mobile would run with Safari disabled, for parental control reasons, so I could use a parental control plugin for the mobile version of firefox. I wanted to use a parental control plugin for firefox mobile and have it be the only browser on the iPod. I wanted to have parental controls this way so I could save some money by not having to pay for a parental control app from iTunes store. Thanks.

There is no Firefox browser for the iPod! Or iPhone or the iPad.

Hi snowmasnayr,

There is not true Firefox for IOS. There is there very handy and cool app Firefox Home though.

You should check it out. It sounds like you are looking for a full browser replacement. If that's the case, I don't think that Firefox Home is what you are looking for.

Hopefully this helps!

I wasn't trying to replace the browser completely, I was wanting to disable the Safari browser for parental control reasons. Let me explain completely what I want to do. I am going to get an iPod, but before I do I wanted to be able to make sure I can get the right parental controls for it. I wanted to use a parental control plugin for firefox mobile instead of paying for SafeEyes mobile (a parental control app available from http://www.internetsafety.com/). The SafeEyes app would replace Safari as the iPod browser (and runs with Safari disabled) so it can block any websites that are bad. I was wanting to see if the firefox mobile would work with Safari disabled the same way the SafeEyes mobile would work. If someone could tell me that would be great. Thank you Matt_G for the fast response, though.
