When I click on the Firefox icon on my laptop...I get a message that says I need to "close firefox before opening up a new window". The problem is, I'm not in Firefox and I have done all the troubleshooting I can think of and I still get the error message. HELP!

I tried closing the process out in the Task Manager, but firefox.exe isn't even listed as running.  :(

Right click a blank part of the Windows Taskbar at the foot of your desktop and choose Task Manager.

Then click the tab called Processes and then find firefox.exe in the list. You can sort the list alphabetically if you like by clicking the header called "Image Name".

Next, right click it and choose End Process. Confirm when you see the warning notice.

You should be able to restart it afterwards.
