I am being notified there is an update available, but when I say OK, the update does not download. It gets hung up saying that it is connecting... So I went to the Firefox site and downloaded the update. (Firefox 3.6.12.dmg) Now when I click on the file it says: Warning: The following disk images failed to mount—Image: Firefox 3.6.12.dmg—Reason: not recognized. If I click OK, nothing happens.

I am on an iMac running 10.4.11.

What's up?

You can try http://thexlab.com/faqs/resetlaunchservices.html

If the file is corrupted then you need to download another copy and make sure that anti-virus software isn't corrupting the downloaded file.
