Hi I wanted to have 2 options for the location of new tabs. 1. At end. 2. Next to adjacent tab.

This is at the same point in time. I know of the setting browser.tabs.insertAfterCurrent in about:config.

I couldn't find an addon to do this.

Could it be possible to have a typical setting for new tab at end, and then a shortcut for new tab next to adjacent?

Chosen solution

It sounds like New Tab Override is following the general setting, which conflicts with the context menu item's normal behavior. I don't have a solution for that, and I'm not sure the add-on's author can distinguish how you called for a new tab so it might not be something they can fix. But maybe they could add a separate "new tab here" button as a workaround.

If you right-click on a tab (active tab or any other tab on the tab bar) and click New Tab, it opens a new tab immediately to the right of that tab. This works even when other new tabs open at the end of the bar.

Does that work on yours?

Unfortunately not keyboardable.

Thanks for responding. Unfortunately this does not work for me. The solution would be more than OK.

I figured out why. I have an addon installed: New Tab Override. And in New Windows and Tabs, for New tabs, I choose "New Tab Override" If I choose something else it works.

With the right click, it seems to go adjacent for a split second, then goes to the end.
