Beginning about a month ago TB became very slow. 5+ sec to open, move, delete, copy emails. Also, periodically I get the message "Not Responding" for 5-6 sec, then TB starts working for 5-6 sec, then "Not Responding", and on and on. Have to close out and reopen. I have reloaded TB but that did not help.

What is your antivirus, and is it set to scan mail folders? Run Windows in safe mode and see if TB performance changes.

My anti-virus is Windows Defender. I do not know if it is set to scan mail folders and I do not know how to check and I do not know how to set it if it is or is not. Toad-Hall said in a previous answer "Empty the 'Papierkorb' folder." Any idea what that means? Where is the "Papierkorb" folder?

Add the TB profile folder as an Exclusion in WD settings, Virus and threat detection settings. In TB, Help/Troubleshooting Information, click Open Folder to open the profile folder and see its location.

Papierkorb is German for Trash or Deleted.

There are other factors that can cause 'Not Responding' if adjusting WD doesn't help.
