When I go to www.amtrak.com, I always get the "secure connection failed" message as shown in the attached image. This is a recurring problem. All other secure sites work just fine. And I am able to connect to Amtrak in other browsers (Edge).

I tried restarting Firefox with add-ons disabled, same problem.

Can anyone help me?

Thank you, Chris

This problem happens with me too in some websites I think the problem is with the cookies or the website is blocked in the country which you live in I don't know if the problem with another thing.

I suggest:

1-Deleting cookies (I don't know if that will work). Click on Open Menu Sign which is up on the right/Then choose Options/ Then Choose Privacy and Security on the left/ Then go to Cookies and Site Data section it is under Forms & Passwords section/ Then click on Manage Data... then choose what cookies do you want to remove or Click on remove all.

Or

2-Using a VPN maybe the website you want to visit is blocked , in the country which I live in some websites when they get blocked I get the message which you get or I get the reason of why the website is blocked.

If you are not in USA download HotSpot Shield VPN then click on connect it will connect to you to the united States Of America if you want another country then you need to pay only USA is available for you.

Or use Avira VPN you can be connected to any country you want but you can only use 500 MB even if you uninstall it to get 500 MB again you still have to pay.

edit: removed google drive download link to a .exe file as per Forum rules and guidelines

I tried removing cookies and that didn't work. Amtrak is the national rail operator of the USA so there's no reason it would be blocked (I am in the USA).

You are in USA? Ok then use Avira VPN just try to use a VPN and connect to another country, you can't be sure if the website is blocked or not, if I were you I would use VPN even if the website belongs to USA, if VPN didn't work then I advice you to re install firefox that is what would do If I were you.

There is nothing else I can suggest.

By the way I am a normal person I am not a moderator or anything I am just giving you suggestion.

I also tried adjusting Kaspersky settings and disabling it completely, those didn't work either. Eh, I'll just use another browser. I submitted feedback to Mozilla about this.

Thanks nonetheless for your help.

Good Luck.

Make sure you are not blocking content.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

One issue that seems more common lately is Firefox's Tracking Protection feature. When it is blocking content in a page, a shield icon will appear at the left end of the address bar next to the padlock icon. This article has more info on managing this feature: Tracking Protection {web link}

I tried it in safe mode, didn't work.

Both in and out of safe mode, no shield icon appeared.

Start your Computer in safe mode with network support. Then start Firefox. Try Secure websites. Is the problem still there?

I'll just hope it gets addressed in the next update. I submitted feedback to Mozilla. I just don't have time to do all of these troubleshooting tasks just for for one website.

Thanks nonetheless for all your help.
