TB does not connect. Editing the existing connection generates an error that I do not understand.

From TB: File / New / Existing Mail Account / enter the requested account data. 1. The email server is not found. 2. The email server URL is incomplete, so I corrected the URL. Logins.json has the correct URL for IMAP and SMTP. 3. Run the re-test and all looks good. Ports are correct, security is proper, and the email server is found. 4. Click the DONE button and a verification of the user password is attempted. The password has never been changed. Also, this message is displayed, and the password verify attempt never times out.

[Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsIMsgAccountManager.createIncomingServer]" nsresult: "0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://messenger/content/accountcreation/verifyConfig.js :: verifyConfig :: line 60" data: no]

How can I fix this error, please? Thank you for your assistance...Rick

Chosen solution

I have found my error.

Under Account Settings / Sever Settings: change the Connection Security to SSL/TLS. Editing the existing account cannot make this change if there is a failure.

This was a new requirement for the company's repositioned email server.
