I clicked on mozilla-firefox.ez-download.com by mistake. Worried about malware. Any comments?

I was trying to download Mozilla Firefox to my MacMini and at the top of the Google search list was "mozilla-firefox.ez-download.com" so I clicked on it and something was downloaded to my computer but I can't find it and can't identify it. Now I'm afraid that my new MacMini is contaminated with malware. Any suggestions for getting rid of it? Also, any suggestions for preventing that and other phishing and/or malware sites from showing up ahead of the REAL Mozilla Firefox?

Chosen solution

The site is not loading for me and I would say it likely serves a .exe which would not work on Mac OSX anyways. The link was likely in a Google Ad which can often be questionable.

Forgot that this ez-download site is known about as there is a report at "Bug 839307 - ez-download.com bundles malware with Firefox" for reading as bugzilla is not a discussion forum.

Firefox should be downloaded from Mozilla.org and if you click on the Systems & Languages below green button it takes you to https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/ where you can choose for what OS and locale.

Open your program listing in the computer and identify EVERYTHING listed.

As to Mozilla and other programs, if you are not sure, Don't. You are best downloading from the program home web site.

You could check your browser's download history to see what the file was called and where it was saved.
