Certain Youtube Videos won't load anywhere.
Hello everyone.
Since a few days (I guess) I've encountered major problems with Youtube. Certain Videos won't load in Firefox. They just won't - they stay at the 0:00 mark and never move. I can see the first frame and I can even scroll through the frames, but it will never play. That isn't the case for every Youtube video, though. Most of them work fine, but a few of them have this problem. And the number of videos having this problem is raising fast. Even videos I could watch perfectly fine before simply won't work anymore.
And really - I am at my wit's end. I've tried every fix known to man (as far as I know). Cleared cache, cleared cookies, updated Flash, Firefox and every other program or plugin I know of, updated drivers, un- and reinstalled both Flash and Firefox completely, changing Flash's settings - but nothing works. These particular videos just never want to move.
And the funny thing is: It's is not even just a Firefox problem. It doesn't work on any other browser of mine. It doesn't even work on my other two computers. Not even on my Smartphone!! Once a video encountered this problem it is GONE FOREVER. I have no possibility to watch it anywhere. But it can't be the video. Because ~120.000 people have already watched it without having any problems.
Yeah, so why am I asking this in the Firefox forum? It's because Firefox was the browser which started it all and if Youtube would just work for Firefox - I'd be fine with that.
So if anybody can help me with this I'd be very, very grateful!

Multiple computers and a smartphone, hmm.
Do they share a single connection to the internet through the same router? Some routers contain firewall-like software, or parental control/filtering software, although it's hard to imagine that it would change suddenly and work only partially if you haven't made any changes or done any firmware updates. In case something has "crashed" in the firmware, you might turn off your DSL/cable modem and any additional routers (e.g., wireless router) and then power them back on again.
Different thought: if you are logged into the same Google account on all of these devices, try using a Private Browsing window to access Youtube more anonymously and see whether that makes any difference. You can open a new private window from the orange Firefox button menu or File menu.
Ah yes they do actually share a connection. And that seems to be the problem, too. I just switched my smartphone to mobile internet and the video worked. It isn't the google account, though. I'm not logged in on my laptop and it doesn't work there either. Also, the private tab does no difference.
There are no 'parental systems' installed, and my Firewalls or other Firmware is still the same from when it still worked. I will still try to reset everything tomorrow and see if it makes a difference.
Thank you.
Okay I've made a reset now and it didn't work unfortunately.
And there are more and more videos that don't work anymore. I basically can't use Youtube at all. And I have no idea what I could try to fix it.
After re-installing the software, did you perform a "hard reboot" on the machine? It could be that although you installed the updated version of Adobe flash player, the computer may not recognize the updated software until a cold reboot has been performed. Here is a link to a website I went to find this information:
[[Can't play Online Videos--Here's what to do|http://www.compukiss.com/videos/cant-play-online-videos-heres-what-to-do.html]]
Here is Adobe's website if you want to check to see if your adobe's Flash Player is updated:
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
Performing a cold reboot on your machine will reset the adapters and clear out the memory which will also enable the PC to recognize the new software installed. To perform a cold reboot on your machine:
1.) Go to the "Start Button" and press Shut Down."
2.) If you have a desktop, unplug the power cord and leave off for 10 seconds. If you have a laptop, remove power supply and battery for 10 seconds. (I leave mine off for at least 20 to 40 seconds myself.)
3.) Re-install the battery(laptop) and plug in the power cord.
4.) Boot the machine on.
Here are the links I used for this information:

If this method doesn't work, then I would recommend going to your manufacturer's website and see if they can't help you resolve this issue with your videos not playing on your computer.

Yes the Flash player is fully updated and yes, I did the hard reboot. But since it happens on every other device too, I don't think it is any plugin or software issue.
I've read something about Youtube having problems with some ISPs and thus not loading videos, but found no solution to that problem.
I'm out of ideas right now.

Actually , Sometime it happens with me too , youtube video does not play at all resulting in Black screen , Technically its Youtube buffering problem due to Browser cookies, virus , Flash player malfunctioning Try Clearing your Browser browsing data clearing your Browser browsing data , There may be issue with your browser cookies , if this did'nt work then just Re- installing your Firefox & Flash player can fix this
Give a try to this article hope its helps you : How to solve
Okay so it started working again.
I have virtually no clue why. But it works now. Thanks to everyone who helped me out here!
