When I click on alink, provided bij Google search engine, I get Gomeo search help, always unusefull, but they have the search terms I typed into Google.

How come Firefox connects me to a website I didn't ask for?

Who is to blame? Google cheating, Gomeo hyjacked my compu? Or did Firefox sell my screenspace to Gomeo?

How do I avoid this? Quititng Google? Quitting Firefox? (I hope not!)

Can we collectively sue Gomeo or Google for this theft of screen space and my work time?

Thnks, Pieter.

I had the same issue after downloading something on new years day, I think it also downloaded a plugin but I didn't pay much attention at the time.

The problem was all linked to my Firefox browser and my Google Chrome browser was completely unaffected thank goodness.

The attempted fix: I ran superantispywear, malwarebytes and avast antivirus as well as a number of trojan killers and trojan remover software and also ran ccleaner, remembering to untick the box not to delete items less than 24 hours old. They all eventually came back clean with no infections but this did not solve the problem, it still kept redirecting to gomeo networks Re-installing firefox had no effect either.

In Documents & Settings there appeared to be some Mozilla Firefox files so I deleted any dated from new years day right up to today. I had to do a little searching to find them but this seems to have worked a treat and I am back to my normal firefox browser page and no redirects.

I hope this helps.

I forgot to say that the files I deleted were hidden so firstly you need to unhide them by doing the following:

Go to and select >My Computer > Tools>Folder Options>View>Show Hidden Files and Folders

It's a good idea to re-hide files again when finished so not to delete important files accidentally.

Good luck

Do a malware check with some malware scan programs.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database before doing a scan.
