TBird stopped downloading my emails. Help search here said it was the ISP. I called my ISP and they said it was TBird. They said to delete the account settings and re-enter. I did. TBird DELETED ALL MY EMAILS AND FOLDERS...THOUSANDS OF THEM! THANKS. Now it won't let me enter a new account. Says it's already there. Says my pw is bad, but it's not. Says service is unavailable, but it is.

Anyway, can I get my stuff back?

If you chose to delete message data when deleting that account, your data is gone! If you did not chose that option, then your data is still there and you can easily get them back, but first, was this a POP or IMAP account?

First, thank you for replying.

I don't recall approving to remove message data. I would understand what it meant. Under Account Options, I chose Delete Account and OK.

It's a pop server.

Not to get off on a tangent, but all three computers running this program have been going haywire starting about a week ago. Shame.

See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1354093 for a solution to restoring your messages. As for the other computers, IF you need help with fixing their installations of Thunderbird, you'll have to be very specific about what problem they are having and IF they are different problems on each, then post a new question for each unique problem.
