Recover my old Firefox profile data after hard drive crash?

more options

My hard drive crashed the recovery disc had none of my old Firefox data. The download from Mozzarella only gives me a new version with no option to sign on with my email account. I hope sent three requests to them and received no response. Any suggestions appreciated.

Is your question about Firefox for Android or Desktop Firefox? In the latter case please ask in the Desktop Firefox support forum.

My question is for Desktop Firefox, using Windows 10.

I'm still laughing about Mozzarella!

But I digress. Did you previously set up a Firefox Account and use the Sync feature? That would provide hope that the Mozilla cloud has some of your old data.

To connect your new installation of Firefox to your old Sync Account, check out this article: How do I set up Sync on my computer?

Does that work?

By the way, do you still have your old hard drive? Or is that what you're using, but the recovery disk wiped it? Sometimes a recovery will create this folder:

C:\Windows.old

That is a temporary folder (removed after 28 days) with a copy of a lot of your old data in it. Let us know if you find that.

To explore its contents fully, you'll need to set Windows to show hidden files and folders:
