Although I use Firefox because it supposed to be safer than other browsers, why didmalware installed itself when I simply tried to delete a station on Pandora?

I was on Pandora and decided to delete a station. When I clicked on "Options", things besides deleting the station happened. A dialogue box popped up on the screen so fast that I didn't have time to read it. It seemed to me that something else came up instantly and selected one of the options in the dialogue box. Then all that disappeared and huge number of pictures from a dating site came up and surrounded Pandora. Now everything seems to be running slowly and jerky. Why wouldn't Firefox stop malware like that?

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.

Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.

Make sure you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.

Firefox for Windows, Mac OSX, and Linux is not prone to allowing malware to just get installed on your system.

The adwcleaner appears to have done the trick. Thanks!
