FF ver. 42.0, even in -safe-mode: extremely often crash on INT3 in plugin-container.exe (continuation)

After this crash LoadLibrary() and LoadLibraryEx() APIs stop normal operation until reboot, xul.dll remains locked by unknown process. That's why Crash reporter can't send report immediatelly; report sending becomes available just via about:crashes when additional annotations are impossible. After this fault system graphic APIs are globally spoiled (garbage in headers of the opened windows). All CHtmlView-derived windows (even belong to applications started before this crash) show empty contents until reboot. Fault having occured 1st time on some Web-page may not occure on the same page after reboot. Since this fault happens on pages not hardly loaded by data streams (e.g. Web-interfaces of e-mailing service), it looks either cumulative or garbage-in-constructor problem. Other hand, this can be either unsuccessful attempt of registering the ISR for INT3 processing or premature deregistering of this ISR before real need of its usage (i.e. syncronizing problem).

We're sorry to hear that Firefox is crashing. In order to assist you better, please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.
- Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A Submitted Crash Reports list will appear, similar to the one shown below.
- Copy the 5 most recent Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.
Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.
(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)
Thank you for your help!

Hi, it's me again. It seems, I've just found what is the problem (and not my only) ! Look for:

All these crashes have happened if Skype agent (ver. 7.7.0.103) was started together with FF 42.0. Detection procedure: 1st, I've stopped all I-net agents included in [All users]->[Startup] group. Then I've started FF and opened safe video file (like about kitties from Rambler->Videos). Flash player normally worked. Then I've loaded agents one-by-one until Flash player has crashed. It's happened after Skype agent has logged on. Moreover, Flash player's crash this time hasn't spoiled operating system, i.e. plugin-container.exe has normally processed it as a sandbox. After Skype agent was stopped, the new one instance of Flash player's continued its normal operation after video page reload. Resume: 1. There's SW conflict between Skype agent 7.7.0.103 and either plugin-container.exe or Shockware Flash player (maybe, identical global names of some syncronizing objects (like mutexes, semaphores etc.) which supposed to be uinque systemwide ?). 2. If Skype agent is started before FF then plugin-container.exe not properly defences system from crashes in plugins: something (e.g. some privileged callback) spoiles operating system so it becomes unstable until reboot. Have a nice day!
¡Hola!
It is a relatively well known fact that "Skype Click to Call" add-on is breaking Firefox, see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1215970
I'm not completely sure if that's what you're referring as "Skype agent".
Please uninstall it from your system via "Add/Remove Programs" and let us know if the crashes go away.
¡Gracias!

This advice looks too radical: in fact, it's enough not to run instances of Skype and FF simultaneously - separately they work perfect ! (At least, on Win32 platform ver. >= 5). In addition, my younger brother is living in another city, my children and grandchildren are also living not very close from my site too. That's why neither me, nor my wife not ready to give up Skype. As a palliative, we just will choose among Skype and FF depending on requirement of the moment yet. (By the way: does Skype breaks FF accidentally? Or it done deliberately?) And the last: would it be right to place in a clearly visible location of the "Troubleshooting" section something like: "Check to see: whether Skype is started? If yes - stop it", - until either Mozilla or Microsoft will solve this problem? ¡Salud y pesetas!
@moaikavakava
You are right, it is the plugin-container.exe causing the problem here. It happens when users at my office use silverlight, another plugin that uses NPAPI plugin types.
The bottom line is this has been going on for years now and what is really happening is that the pluginicontainer.exe actually crashes not the plugin itself, and the plugin container thinks flash player crashes.
No other browser has this issue with flash for example. Certain people on here have known about this issue for years now as well and keep offering the same solutions to attempt to resolve the problem with FLASH, i.e disabling protected mode. it is not a flash issue once again. Bottom line is that the solutions work randomly. Until Mozilla abandons that plugin-container.exe and ALL NPAPI based plugins the problem will go away
Flash is outdated and many suggest that it should not be installed. But many websites still require flash plugin to work. I think here is the problem with hardware acceleration that flash and other plugins require. Try disabling it in
about:preferences#advanced (type this in adress bar)
uncheck use hardware acceleration when available
¡Hola moaikavakava!
Please just uninstall "Skype Click to Call" that is what seems to cause the crashes, you can keep "Skype".
You might want to give Firefox Hello - video and voice conversations online a try ;-)
Let us know if this solves the crashes, please.
¡Gracias!

Definitely no: the 1st step I did - turned off HW acceleration. This had no any effect on the fault behaviour.
Hi ! Carm said

It's fair to say, that I got similar problem running Chrome simultaneously with Skype: Chrome interrupted out of the blue playing flash video => Windows die (not till a blue screen, but any normal operation was impossible until reboot). Have a nice day !

As I've already noted above, Skype replacement by something else rests on the compatibility with others: a lot of real, alive contacts worldwide are already registered in Skype. Since videoconferencing is at least two-ends rope, such replacement must be done in accord with foreign contacts. Unfortunately, this looks not very simple (have you ever teach 60 y.o. women to use some new plugin ? Even if they were not blondes in young ages... This isn't sexism - just pure experience). That's why Skype will stay awhile (and flv-format with Shockware Player too).

I will try to do it, but can't guarantee that in the near future. ¡Gracias!
Hi !
It seems, I've found a solution (at least, of my problem). Additive installation of Windows hotfixes: KB885250 KB921883 KB941693 KB943055 KB950974 KB957097 KB958644 KB958687 KB971468 KB978706 (alltogether or some of them) made Skype and Shockware flash player much more friendly each to other. Test procedure: enter all KBs in /passive /norestart /ER mode -> place Skype in [Autorun] -> reboot -> start FF -> run videos with (e.g. Simon's cat) -> send and receive messages via Skype. Until hotfixes noted above were not applied, a mere presence of Skype instance which was started before FF brought Windows into grave. Now both are working together. I observe yet how long it will last.
Have a nice day !
