Lost passwords after refreshing firefox
I refreshed Firefox and all my passwords disapeared even though it stated they would be saved. I followed online instructions and copied and pasted the old data into the new profile. Although I can see the old login data is there nothing shows up in the saved passwords section in settings. HELP! all my passwords are badly required as I have no other record.

I assume you copied both files which are required. Your passwords are stored in two different files, both of which are required: key4.db This file stores your key database for your passwords. To transfer saved passwords, you must copy this file along with the following file. logins.json Encrypted information about your saved usernames and passwords.

There is also logins-backup.json. Copying that to logins.json may help. You should close Firefox before copying files.
I copied the entire old data file as per the online instructions and pasted it into the new profile...with no effect...lost all passwords and bookmarks. Thanks for the response but it appears the data is completely lost. I would suggest going forward that refreshing Firefox would find a way not to lose that data in the process. For those not computer savvy it would be a benefit. Thanks terry!
I don't know what "online instructions" said that. The official support instructions are to copy selected files.
