Migrated Thunderbird from Mac to Windows - won't remember passwords
I have successfully migrated my profile from Mac to Windows. All of my stored emails and folders are present. I can receive and send email. There is just one problem. Thunderbird will not remember any passwords for the POP3 or SMTP server.
When I migrated the Thunderbird folder to the Windows machine, I did as instructed and deleted the pkcs11.txt file. The first time I started up Thunderbird I used the command line with the -p option to make sure the migrated profile was use instead of the program defaulting to creating a new one. Like magic, all of my old emails appeared, exactly as they had been on the Mac. Great success.
However, Thunderbird has not created a new pkcs11.txt file on the Windows machine. I am asked for the password everytime I check or send email. If I go into the Thunderbird preferences and look at the saved passwords list, it is blank. Everytime I enter a password I check the box to remember the password with the password manager, to no avail.
What are my next steps?

I've resolved the issue. I restored the pksc11.txt file from the Mac profile folder, and edited it so that the path to the profile folder is correct for the Windows environment.
IE From this: configdir='sql:/Users/james/Library/Thunderbird/Profiles/y3lgyr2u.default'
To this: configdir='sql:C:\\Users\\jimht\\AppData\\Roaming\\Thunderbird\\Profiles\\y3lgyr2u.default'
Now all of my saved passwords are showing up in the passwords manager in Thunderbird, and I can send and receive email without having to re-enter the password.
