Can anyone tell me how to remove s.yimg.com from my browser
I recently started having my browser become VERY VERY slow. I noticed that this occurred because it is always waiting for information/data for s.yimg.com. When I looked up info about this it said that this is a nasty advertisement browser add-on. I ran Avast scan, CCleaner, and Spybot, but nothing detected it or fixed the problem. Please help, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Any need for specific information will be addressed.
Thanks

yimg.com is a server used by Yahoo for various bits and pieces of their sites. If you completely block that server, their pages won't load correctly.
However, it should not affect other sites not affiliated with Yahoo. If you are seeing it there, hmm, you can view, disable, and often remove unwanted or unknown extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:
- Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
- "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
- type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return
In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions. On the right side, find the "Manage Your Extensions" heading.
If there is at least one extension before the next heading -- "Recommended Extensions" -- please continue:
Then cast a critical eye over the list below that heading. Any extensions Firefox installs for built-in features are hidden from this page, so everything listed here is your choice (and your responsibility) to manage. Anything suspicious or that you just do not remember installing or why? If in doubt, disable (or remove). For your privacy and security, don't let mystery programs linger here.
Any improvement?
Note: if the page comes up empty, you may need to restart Firefox in its Safe Mode to clean up your extensions. Here's how:
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
- "3-bar" menu button > "?" Help button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
- (menu bar) Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
and OK the restart.
A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).
That should prevent extensions from interfering with your use of the Add-ons page.
Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support to see if that has effect in case security software is causing problems.
