Malware on refresh

more options

I visited a website on google, the first link that came up caused my AVG anti virus to flag it. However it keeps popping up every now and then whenever I'm refresh a webpage. I have scanned using AVG and malware bytes but nothing is found. I tried other browsers and they are fine. Do I have to remove everything on my computer relating to firefox to get rid of it?

The malware link that keeps being detected is www.seo101.net/s101.js but I never went on this link.

Do you mean a refresh using the reload button in the address bar or a keyboard shortcut like Ctrl+r or the F5 function key?

Hmm, do you have any SEO-related add-ons? You can view, disable, and often remove unwanted or unknown extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then cast a critical eye over the list on the right side. All Mozilla-installed extensions are hidden from this page, so what you see listed is your choice and responsibility to enable/disable/remove. If in doubt, disable.

Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.

Any difference?
