This seems to me as a malware infection.Please get your PC scanned using an anti-malware. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (https://www.malwarebytes.org/mwb-download/thankyou/) and AdwCleaner(https://toolslib.net/downloads/viewdownload/1-adwcleaner/) can prove to be a good choice to start with.Leaving it to your discretion.

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.

Thanks for your help. I do have Malwarebytes. I updated, then ran it last night and it didn't pick up this problem. I'll try AdwCleaner.

Thanks for your reply. I was hoping someone had heard of this sugar.swf or its source. I did try Malwarebytes yesterday but no luck.

Glad to hear that you already had Malwarebytes installed,its a handy tool but with the increasing number of malwares one database might not suffice so I would suggest a scan by these as well:-

1) Adw Cleaner (https://toolslib.net/downloads/viewdownload/1-adwcleaner/)

2)Spybot- Search & Destroy (free) (https://www.safer-networking.org/mirrors/)

3)SUPERAntiSpyware (http://www.superantispyware.com/downloadfile.html?productid=SUPERANTISPYWAREFREE)

I'll try those others Nowiz. Thanks Just a note though, when I pull up my Comcast email through Google Chrome rather than Firefox, I don't get that pop-up. Leads me to think it might have come via one of those regular Firefox updates that you can't refuse.

You may have corrupt sessionstore file(s).

Type about:support in the address bar and press enter.

Under the page logo on the left side you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To it’s right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.

Locate the sessionstore file(s).. Then rename or delete them. Restart Firefox.

Does this still happen if you disable the Shockwave Flash plugin?

You can check for issues caused by plugins and set plugins to "Ask to Activate" on the "Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Plugins" page.

• plugins are not affected by Firefox Safe Mode

Try to clear the Flash local storage and settings.

• Windows Control Panel > Flash Player > Storage: Local Storage Settings
  • Remove a specific domain: Local Storage Settings by site
  • Remove all domains: Delete All and Delete Data

Fred: You're a genius! I only found the Sessionstore- backup folder but I deleted everything in at and that seems to work. No more nasty little pop-up when opening new emails.

To everyone. Thank you all so much for your help. I could never have figured this one out myself. You're wonderful.
