firefox stutters after 38.0.5 update
befure this update and when I was running the version 37, it was going good, 38: good, 38.0.5: crud
I have no idea why it would happen, but now firefox stutters when im watching youtube, a different video streaming site, or as im typing right now; I uninstalled firefox using a tool that searches extensively for ANY leftover data after a normal unistall, got rid of the lefovers, but backed up important file stuff, and after reapplying EVERYTHING to normal, the problem still persists (I imagine uninstalling is just as good as refreshing)
what I haven't done is reinstall my graphics card driver and stuff (I use Nvidia Geforce 650 Ti), and ill do that, but in the off chance THAT does nothing, what else is there to do; not to speak bad, but I tested this on google chrome (don't use that one for much except problem debugging), and NO problems with that one at all
and just to be clear, if any solutions involve uninstalling any extensions, I will not choose to do so

Hi sullenlock6, any luck if you upgrade your graphics drivers to latest ?
thank you
unfortunately, reinstalling the graphics driver does nothing
and turning off the hardware acceleration option does nothing at all; in fact, I think the stuttering is getting longer by just a hair bit
I DO notice though, that when I used the filehippo update app scanner, that it said firefox has a 38.0.6 update, but the link here says its still 38.0.5, even when I open the about firefox window to check for updates, it still says "Firefox is up to date"
I DID notice on both the CDN and the FTP servers, that the 38.0.6 update is there in a folder not marked as an alpha or beta of any sort, so I assume its a stable release; would any admins or mods or whoever be willing to confirm that this is true, because if this update can fix my firefox, I'd like to use it
Hi,
38.0.6 shipped for funnelcake builds only to correct an issue with search providers
Bug 1171730 - funnelcake builds should use geo-specific defaults
thanks
well I won't risk installing that build then, or a beta version; ill wait till the next stable version comes out, should fix it then; any other suggestions?
