Are blocked download files stored anyhow somewhere ?
I'm downloading a video file from a file hoster. After the download is finished I get a message in the Library window telling me that the file is blocked as it may contain a virus or spyware. Does "blocked" mean the file is automatically deleted after the download, or is it stored anyhow at some location ? If it's automatically deleted how can I change setting to get the file, at my own risk ? Thanx, e-haggle

That would depend on what did the blocking. An anti-virus would move such files to it's quarantine section. What was the file, and where did you get it from? (Web Address)
Firefox uses data from Google's Safe Browsing to check whether files from a website are save to download.

I temporarily switched my anti virus program off but, the downloaded file is still blocked. So, I guess it's Firefox who is blocking the downloaded file. The file is from an adult site, possibly indeed not a secure source. Actually I does not matter from where I'm downloading files. I just would like to know how to switch off the blocking function. I don't like to be patronized and I would like to have the option to overrule this kind of safeguards. Thank you for your replay anyhow.

Hello cor-el, thank you for your hints. It works. After unchecking "Block reported attack sites" and "Block reported web forgeries" at the Firefox security preferences I can download and save the previously blocked file. Certainly I'll set the click marks back on after the download to be on the save side. It would be great if Firefox would give me an option how to handle suspicious files, like a warning message which I can overrule by my own risk or something similar. e-haggle
