Since I have upgraded to a Windows 7 64 bit operating system, am having problems attaching files.

When I am in an application such as office 2007 and I hit "send via email" I get a logon failed, you must log onto Microsoft exchange to access your address book.

In Excel, I receive a "general mail failure" Thunderbird is set as the default mail client in Windows 7

Thank you

Say Thank you Microsoft. MAPI, the tool used for most of the "mail magic" in windows is depreciated and not included in Windows 7, it can be made to work on 32 bit Windows 7, bit 64Bit such as I have just does not play. Microsoft Office, word particularly is hard coded for Microsoft Outlook, so sending mail from Word is quite difficult.

My solution has been to Dump Microsoft and use the Free open source LibreOffice. I don't have to do battle with the ribbon either and that is a god send.
