Why doesn't my back button work?

I recently reset my Firefox because links weren't working in several sites. Now my back button doesn't work (it's grayed out) and the browser no longer remembers--or even shows--the sites I visit. E.G. when I'm typing a URL into the navigation bar, it no longer fills in common sites, and when I click on links within a site the address of the linked page says about:blank rather than the real URL.

Hello,

Try see this help article:

Try also start Firefox in Safe Mode:

To remember and fill the urls you need to allow the option to remember history, to do this, go to Tools >> Options >> Privacy >> Firefox will: change to Remember history

Problems with bookmarks and history not working properly can be caused by a corrupted places.sqlite database file.

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.
