I have tried everything, resetting, deleting files from it, reinstalling, resetting with safe mode on, nothing works. This seems to be a programming quirk with the browser, please don't give answers like "Reset firefox in safe mode" or such because I have tried everything possible (goggled it before asking).

I am running it on Windows 7 Ultimate Edition, 2.2Ghz Dual Core, 2GB RAM.

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Could you give a little more history on this problem: Did Firefox previously work normally and just started having this problem, or has Firefox never worked normally on your computer?

And about the problem:

  • Are the areas you cannot type into in web pages, or in the user interface (e.g., address bar), or both?
  • Does the cursor sit there blinking, or does the cursor not appear the box? If you cannot click to place the cursor in a box, can you use a keyboard shortcut (e.g., Ctrl+L for address bar or Ctrl+E for search bar) or tab into it?
  • If you right-click>Paste, do the boxes accept content or are they blocked?

Some have reported that pressing F9+Windows one or more times has worked to fix issues with the keyboard not working.
