Firefox crashes first time only (after starting computer). Still no solution after some forum help.
When I open Firefox after turning on CPU it crashes after about 5-10 seconds. Afterwards, it works just fine. I have done all Firefox recommended troubleshooting, to no avail. I posted this problem on another forum thread and was advised to reset Firefox. This appeared to work for a short time, but Firefox is crashing again.
Since it works the second time I open it, this is really more of a nuisance than a crucial problem. However, I do want it to work properly. Please help.

hello jstonchus - when you type about:crashes into the firefox location bar, are there any recent crash reports listed? if so please copy & paste their IDs into a reply to this thread. thank you!

hello, thanks for providing more details. unfortunately most of the ids come back as invalid & don't offer a clue on what's triggering the crashes.
a few things i'd recommend to further troubleshoot the issue:
- please make sure that all your browser plugins are up to date
- update your graphics driver, this should be the correct link for your model: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=21430&ProdId=3319&lang=eng&OSVersion=Windows%207%20%2864-bit%29*&DownloadType=%0ADrivers%0A
- enter about:config into the firefox location bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up), search for the preference named 'gfx.direct3d.prefer_10_1' and right-click & reset that entry
Thanks for the advice, but these didn't seem to work either. Any other ideas?
