Sounds like you have had the Google Toolbar installed and if so then:

There will be no update of the Google Toolbar to work with Firefox 5 or any later version of Firefox because Firefox users have most of the features built-in and have alternatives.

Google Toolbar Help: An update on Google Toolbar for Firefox http://googletoolbarhelp.blogspot.com/2011/07/update-on-google-toolbar-for-firefox.html

Toolbar not available for Firefox 5 or newer versions : - Toolbar Help http://www.google.com/support/toolbar/bin/answer.py?answer=1342452&topic=15356%29

For translation and spell checking you do not need an extension at all https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/852325

If this is the case then go to your Control-Panel Add/Remove Programs and uninstall Google Toolbar.

Try TOOLS => Options => Addons => Plugins to see if there are any plugins related to Google and/or Chrome and disable those. Do the same for "Extensions". Any help there?

nope still there

Are you using the default theme or a custom one.

Also, try creating a new profile just to see if the popup alert goes away. If it does then we'll have to explore your current profile a bit more in detail.

The "Chrome Toolbar" was a part of the Google Toolbar and there could still be a reference to it somewhere that is causing the popup. What version of Firefox was your previous version prior to version 10.

Another thought .. Right-click on the toolbar and select "Customize" and then choose to "Restore Default Set".

Right-click the menu bar, the one at the very top and then proceed to the customize dialog window. Did you create a new profile yet?

"Chrome" or XUL is the Mozilla XML user interface language.

What is the exact chrome:// address given in that error message?

Can you attach a screenshot?

Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed the maximum file size (1 MB).

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.
