Recently am having audio distortion problem with some web based videos

I'm running latest version of Firefox, 10.0.1 and believe my plug ins are up to date. Last several days in many videos on YouTube and other websites where the audio is a song, there is some sort of phase shift distortion and vocal has a lot of reverb and is faint, similar effect to using vocal remover software. I'm not aware of anything I've done to cause this, no settings I've chosen or anything I've done to my computer. Music files on my hard drive play normally.

I would check to see if your Audio driver may need updated. Go to your Device Manager, or check on your computer example (gateway/support) website for most up to date version.
