how do I get back the nice bright tab bar?

My last Firefox version had a nice bright tab bar and a nice bright back arrow, too. It was easy to just glance up and click the tab I wanted or hit the X to close a tab. With Firefox 8 it's all black and gray, and so dim I can't even see the X to close a tab.

Try a different Firefox theme (Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes):

You mean there's actually no way to fix it? I had a nice please blue theme, and Firefox 8 turned it all black and gray and dim. There's no way to keep my colorful background and fix this?
