the update.exe file seems to be in the C:/User/Appdata folder as well as C:/Program file folder..is the one in appdata folder normal?
When firefox checks for update, the update.exe seems to be in 3 different locations- c:/user/appdata & c:/program file/. Am doubtful of this.Shouldn't it be only in the program files folder?Is it safe to update?

To update Firefox, click Help | Check For Updates. The procedure will take place automatically from that point onwards.

yes this ticks me off... i have un-checked auto update in options but even if i compile a null executable and name it updater.exe in the appdata local 0 it re spawns as a new file... (very intrusive firefox!) so ill be hex editing, reviewing source code, and lookin though every bit of registry and appdata and dll files regarding how this updater.exe is spawned and will be among the first on the web to kill this hydra called updater.exe ill post if i have time. too bad the developers weren't nice enough to put an option to never display again...

Ok i solved this, just delete updater.exe from program files than navigate to %appdata%\local\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox\updates rename the folder "0" to anything other than 0. and your all good.
