I have added the adobe flash player from your adds, but could you tell me how to activate it?

When I installed the flash player, it downloaded fine. But the website that told me that I needed it still says that I need to download the add on. How do I activate the add on for Firefax?

Downloading it will just download the setup file. Have you run the setup file to install Flash? The process for installing Flash is quite straightforward:

  1. Using Firefox download the Flash setup file (install_flash_player.exe) from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
  2. Close Firefox
  3. Run the Flash setup file to install Flash.

Thanks Tony for your reply. Unfortunately, the website that told me to add Flash still does not recognize that I have downloaded the add on. It still says to "add Adobe Flash player". Thank you for your response.

As a matter of fact, my choice is Firefox. But I noticed that on Internet Explorer, I had no problems adding Flash, just on Firefox.

Have you downloaded the file named install_flash_player.exe?

If you have downloaded that file, have you run it to install Flash?

more options

Yes I have done this process.

  1. Using Firefox download the Flash setup file (install_flash_player.exe) from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
  2. Close Firefox
  3. Run the Flash setup file to install Flash.

Now what? I did not get the Flash installed on Firefox, just on Internet Explorer.

Are you downloading the Flash setup file with Firefox or with IE?

Adobe supplies the version that is needed for the browser being used at that download page automatically. IOW, if you use IE for that download, you get the ActiveX version - not the one that Firefox needs, the Plugin version.

You should see two versions Flash in the Control Panel > Add / Remove Programs window. The Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX (for IE) and the Adobe Flash Player 10 Plugin for other browsers, like Firefox.
