Basically when I click an image, it shows up in full screen instead of on the side like I'd like it to. Once I click the 'x' at the top right, it has appeared at the right side like it's supposed to. Is there a setting I can change to stop this from happening. Everytime this happens, the preview is always low quality so it looks bad. An example is the Panda image provided. Thanks.

If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block content (Adblock Plus, NoScript, DuckDuckGo PE, Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin), always make sure such extensions do not block content.

You can try these steps in case of issues with webpages:

You can reload webpage(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • press "Ctrl+F5" or press "Ctrl+Shift+R" (Windows,Linux)
  • press "Command+Shift+R" (Mac)

Clear the Cache and remove the Cookies for websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Settings), click the padlock icon (Clear cookies and site data) for the domain in the selected tab.

"Remove the Cookies" for websites that cause problems:

  • Settings -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data: "Manage Data"

"Clear the Cache":

  • Settings -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data -> Clear Data -> [X] Cached Web Content -> Clear

Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or if userChrome.css/userContent.css is causing the problem.

  • switch to the Default System theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click "Refresh Firefox" in the Troubleshoot Mode start window

You can check for issues with Enhanced Tracking Protection and Total Cookie Protection. Firefox shows a purple shield instead of a gray shield at the left end of the location/address bar in case Enhanced Tracking Protection is blocking content.

  • click the shield icon for more detail and possibly disable the protection

You can check the Web Console for relevant-looking messages like about blocked content.

No fix. Not an extension problem as I tried the troubleshoot mode, and can't be an "enhanced tracking protection" problem as this happened randomly even though my settings have not changed, at least not those involving my tracking protection preferences.

How about providing steps to replicate this.... issue from the start. Is this where you're starting from, a search result? see screenshot Do other browsers show the result you're looking for? You post some random image without proving any info on how to get the result you're looking for. I would suggest you record your desktop using sharex and post the video online for us to get a better idea of the issue.

Wikipedia offers fullscreen mode. see screenshot https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giant_panda

My Apologies, here is the process.

Open firefox

Search for anything

Go to "Images"

Click any image

It appears as a fullscreen image, and is super low quality due to it being a preview of the clicked image, which is lower resolution than the real image. The fact this happens is my issue, I just want it on the right side of the screen as it does in browsers such as Chrome. This may be a setting but I am unable to find it, I'm not saying it's something wrong with firefox.

I've taken your suggestion of getting ShareX and getting a video of it, but I don't know how to attach videos to these reply boxes, so I've got an imgur link instead. It's low quality but it captures what it needs.
